Brooklyn grandmother killed in Bensonhurst 2-car crash

FATAL ACCIDENT GFXBROOKLYN, N.Y. (PIX11) — One of the victims in Saturday afternoon’s two-car crash at an intersection, where locals say accidents are common-place., has died.

Authorities identify here as Chenugor Dao of Brooklyn.

Eight people were hurt — half of them pedestrians — when, according to authorities a maroon Acura SUV blew through a stop sign and slammed into a Jeep Cherokee, causing it to flip over.
This was around 2:30 p.m. at the corner of Quentin Road and West 5th Street in Bensonhurst.

Police say four pedestrians, a mother, her baby girl, just a year old, and her grandparents, were among those injured. Dao, the child’s gradmother, was dead on arrival at Luthern Hospital Center; The child’s injuries weren’t serious; doctors listed her mother and grandfather in stable condition.

A 21-year-old woman — a passenger in the Jeep — was rushed to Kings County Hospital Center in Flatbush, where she’s listed in critical — but stable condition. The jeep’s driver and two other passengers were listed as stable condition at Borough Park’s Maimonides Medical Center.

Police are still looking into the crash; so far no one has been arrested her charged.
