Dominique Strauss-Kahn settled out of court with the New York maid who accused him of rape.
The former head of the International Monetary Fund, and French presidential candidate made international headlines in 2011, after a New York City hotel maid accused him of raping her.
Nafissatou Diallo, 33, claimed Strauss-Kahn, 63, assaulted her when she went to clean his room at the ritzy Sofitel in Manhattan. During the investigation, French journalist Tristane Banon, 33, also made sexual assault allegations against Strauss-Kahn, stemming from years earlier. Although an investigation was launched, both the cases in France and New York were eventually dropped by prosecutors.
According to Strauss-Kahn’s U.S. lawyers a resolution has been discussed with Diallo, but no settlement has been finalized. Both Strauss-Kahn’s U.S. and French lawyers denied a report that Strauss-Kahn would pay $6 million to Diallo
