NEW YORK (PIX11) — NEW YORK (PIX11)— The man dubbed “John Doe Duffel Bag” is a mystery man no more.According to police, the serial killer suspect identified as Salvatore Perrone of Staten Island, has been charged with three counts of first-degree murder. Officially labeled a serial killer after his arrest, sources tell PiX11 News his pharmacist recognized him as he filled the 63-year-old’s prescription for  high blood pressure  Tuesday night.

Salvatore Perrone of Staten Island, has been charged with three counts of first-degree murder.

Search warrants executed at his girlfriend’s apartment in Brooklyn turned up the now infamous duffel bag which held contents that can somewhat be interpreted as incriminating.

Perrone is divorced with some money problems. Working in garment sales as a middleman, buying from suppliers and selling to small shops like the one all three victims owned.

Three murders in five months with the same .22 caliber weapon, police said. One victim was Muslim, two were Jewish, but all three victims were targeted, police say, because of their Middle Eastern descent.  NYPD  commissioner told reporters Wednesday night, Perrone was already lining up his next victims.

Perrone has a minor criminal record – for hits like bad checks. Police say he took the subways to and from locations – no one could possibly know the contents in the duffel bag of their fellow passenger. His neighbors, not what you would call fans.
