A tour bus crashed into the concrete barrier of a highway in Westchester County Wednesday morning, leaving its 25 passengers with minor injuries.
At about 7 a.m., a Star Tag tour bus was returning to New York City from Foxwoods Casino, traveling southbound on the New England Thruway/Interstate-95 when it crashed into the right lane guard rail. The collision caused a chunk of the concrete barrier to break off and fall on to a service road.
The bus was near Exit 16 in New Rochelle, and emergency responders from both Westchester County and New York City responded to the scene.
Twenty-five people were on board at the time of the accident. All were treated at the scene for minor injuries.
The right lane was closed to traffic, causing heavy delays leading up to the site of the crash.
It appears the tour bus was the only vehicle involved in the crash, and investigators will determine if slick road conditions contributed to the incident.
